PROFILE OF MR EZEKIEL OLASUPO SHADIYA

Ezekiel Olasupo Shadiya hails from Ilesha, Osun State. He had his primary education at St. Paul’s Anglican Primary School, Ilashe via Ilesha, from January 1962 - December 1967, and attended Ilesha Grammar School between January 1968 and December 1972, where he graduated with flying colors. Mr. Shadiya graduated with Honors from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka in June 1979 with a degree in Geology. He received the Best Graduating Geology Student Award for the year and the Silas Nwachukwu Memorial Shell-BP Prize for the best student in Applied Geophysics and Petroleum Geology. He later completed his National Youth Service with Shell Petroleum Development Company in Lagos as a Development Geologist. In September 1980, he proceeded to the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College of Science and Technology of the University of London, where he earned a master’s degree in Geophysics and the Diploma Membership of Imperial College in 1981. He also earned an MBA from Saint Mary’s College of California, United States of America 1995. Upon graduation from Imperial College, Mr. Shadiya joined Western Geophysical Company of America in London as a Special Project Geophysicist. He returned to Nigeria in 1983 and joined the then Gulf Oil Company Nigerian Limited, now Chevron, as an Exploration Geophysicist. With 40 years of Oil and Gas industry experience, 32 of which were with Chevron in Nigeria and in the United States, Mr. Shadiya held several positions of increasing responsibilities in the company, including the Executive Director of the NNPC/Chevron Joint Venture before he retired in August 2015. After retirement, Mr. Shadiya continued with private professional practice in Oil and gas and assumed the position of Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Lexham Oil Group, consisting of Lexham Oil Services; offering services in Petroleum Engineering, Geology & Geophysics and Oil Field Development, and Lexham Petroleum Development Company; seeking investments in marginal field acquisition and operations in the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Sector. Mr. Shadiya is a man of strong faith in the Lord and was a past President of the Christian Brothers Association (CBA) of St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Isolo. His outstanding industry accomplishments include serving as the Vice President of the Nigerian Gas Association (2001-2002). In recognition of his outstanding professional services, he received Fellowship Awards from the Nigerian Association of Petroleum Explorationists (NAPE) as well as the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (NMGS). He is also a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Nigerian Institute of Management. A competent professional in the oil and gas industry, Mr. Shadiya has a strong drive for business performance, a great capacity for hard work, and strong analytical and innovative thinking skills. He is an excellent team player and a strong advocate of good governance, business ethics, and leadership accountability. Mr. Shadiya is married to Funmi Shadiya, an entrepreneur and they are blessed with wonderful children.
